Internships Beyond Broome CountyStudents may participate in full-time credit-bearing internships during the fall and spring semesters beyond the Binghamton University area. Whether these internships are with the New York State Assembly, the Disney Program, the Washington D.C. Program, or any other full time, full semester professional opportunity, students are able to participate without jeopardizing their financial aid or medical insurance standing. Participation in the Internships Beyond Broome County (IBBC) program (OCC 495) requires a great deal of student initiative. Students must contact the organization of interest directly and follow the application process as outlined by that organization. Once the internship has been secured, students must complete a proposal for credit, and the agency must complete a site description form for the Career Development Center. The acceptance letter from the agency must also be submitted to CDC. Once the proposal and description have been approved, CDC may enroll the student in the OCC 495 program for 4-12 credits, dependent upon the need of the student and the requirement of the respective agency. Prior to enrollment in the internship program, students must secure the remaining credits needed to maintain full time status from their department of major. When does the process begin? What are the requirements? *Attendance at the advising sessions for this program is NOT required.* |
